SSH Mare Predicates

Mares can be presented from the age of three years or older In order that she can be entered from the foal book into the Studbook.

Breeding mares can achieve a variety of predicates throughout her breeding/competition career.

Predicates are awarded based on the quality of movement, conformation and / or based on their success in competition and/or the quality of progeny that she produces.

Below are a list of the predicates you may find on a Scottish Sports Horse Pedigree.

 

First Premium awarded to mares who have been presented at an SSH Grading and achieved an average score of 140 points or over. The highest score from either the jumping or the movement will be combined with the conformation score to produce the overall average score. (£100 Cash Award)

Ster awarded to mares who have been presented at an SSH Grading and achieved an average score of 145 points or over. A minimum of 70 must be achieved for conformation with a score of 75 or over for either the jumping or movement part of the assessment. (£200 Cash Award)

Keur awarded to mares who have been presented at an SSH Grading and achieved the Ster predicate, who have successfully performed in sport 1.30m in Showjumping, Intermediate eventing, or medium dressage, OR who have successfully completed an IBOP mare performance test with good results AND have produced a first or second premium foal. (£300 Cash Award non accumulative £100 will be awarded to mares already in receipt of the Ster cash Award)

Prok awarded to mares that have successfully x-rayed showing that they are free from hereditary conditions such as OCD and navicular. (£100 Cash Award)

Elite: awarded to mares who have fulfilled the requirements of Keur AND have a PROK certificate.

Model awarded to mares who have successfully bred three first premium foals. This predicate can be awarded to ALL mares including those who have failed to achieve the Ster or Keur predicates or who fail to meet the pedigree requirements of a head studbook mare. (£100 Cash Award)

Sport awarded to mares who have successfully competed in sport, 1.30m in Showjumping, Intermediate eventing, or medium dressage (£200 Cash Award)

Preferent: awarded to mares who have successfully produced three Ster progeny.

Prestatie awarded to mares who have successfully produced three progeny that have been successful in sport 1.30m in Showjumping, Intermediate eventing, or medium dressage.
