| Foal Registration
The
Scottish Sports Horse is an Open Studbook therefore any sports horse/
pony foal regardless of parentage or pedigree can be registered
(passported or over stamped) by the SSH in accordance with EU directives.
Foals will be entered into one of the foal sections outlined below
depending on its parentage outlined in the SSH Guidelines.
Main Foal Section For all foals sired by a EU/WBFSH
licensed or Approved Stallion and who's dam is a stud book mare
also sired by a EU/WBFSH licensed or approved stallion. Foals must
have a minimum of three generation pedigree.
Auxiliary Foal section For all foals by an SSH
Registered stallion who's dam is is a stud book mare sired by a
EU/WBFSH licensed or Approved stallion. Foals must have a minimum
three generation pedigree.
Foundation Foal section For all foals by an SSH
Listed, non Approved stallions or stallions that are non WBSHF/EU
members and all foals that do not have a complete three generation
pedigree.
Basic Register For foals that do not require an
SSH breed society passport e.g. animals with unknown breeding and
non breeding stock. No pedigree will be recorded. Foals registered
with a basic passport cannot be presented at an SSH Grading.
NB Foals registered in the basic Register can apply for
a Breed Society Passport in order that he/she be illegible for Grading
